Lost Wages/Lost Income
FAQs
I am a blue-collar worker in the lumber industry. How are my lost wages calculated if I am injured in an accident? Are my gross wages or my net wages used? What kind of documentation is required?
How do insurance companies calculate “lost wages,” especially loss of future earnings?
I took my two-week paid vacation plus some extra sick time to stay home and heal from my injuries. Now I have no vacation time left for the rest of the year. Am I entitled to be paid for this time by the responsible driver? Can I recover for lost earnings even though I did not lose any income? How can I prove I took this time off?
My doctor said I could go back to work two weeks after the accident, but I was still in pain, so I decided to stay home one more week. Will I be compensated for the additional week of lost pay? How do I substantiate my lost wages?
