Raptiva Side Effects
Patients who used the drug may have experienced relatively mild side effects, such as headache, muscle and joint pain, and nausea and vomiting. More serious side effects have included signs of infection, such as fever, chills, redness or tenderness in the skin, and even problems with vision, speech, or swallowing. Raptiva was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2003, but in 2009, the FDA issued a Public Health Advisory to advise patients that there had been three confirmed PML reports. In 2009, the manufacturer of Raptiva, Genentech, suspended sales of the drug in the United States.
