Zoloft Lawsuits, Litigation & Lawyers
Zoloft, manufactured by Pfizer, Inc., is one of several antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SRRIs. It has been linked to possible risks of increased suicide in both children and adults, serious withdrawal symptoms in patients who discontinue use and in infants whose mother took Zoloft during pregnancy, and to an increased risk of persistent pulmonary hypertension (PPH) in newborn infants whose mothers took Zoloft after the 20th week of pregnancy.

There have been numerous lawsuits by individuals to recover damages for injury from suicide, suicide attempts, and painful withdrawal symptoms that the patients or mothers of infants were not told about before they took Zoloft. With the discovery that Zoloft is linked to an increase in PPH in newborn infants, there may be lawsuits related to that condition in the future.
On July 23, 2004 Roberta Madison, a private citizen acting as a private attorney general on behalf of the citizens of California, filed suit against Pfizer, Inc., the manufacturer of Zoloft, in a Los Angeles superior court, claiming that Pfizer misled doctors and patients both about the safety and effectiveness of Zoloft. Unfair Competition Law allows a private citizen to act as Attorney General on behalf of consumers.
If you or your infant or child has suffered serious side effects after taking Zoloft, you may be entitled to collect damages as compensation for injuries. To find an experienced Zoloft attorney, see Hiring a Zoloft Attorney and Lawyer.
