Viagra, Cialis & Levitra Lawsuits, Litigation & Lawyers

Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra are drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and have been linked to serious side effects including sudden death, cardiac events, and blindness.

Viagra was the first ED drug of this type approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and has been on the market for approximately 5 years longer than the other drugs. As a result, most of the reported litigation has been about Viagra. Since both Cialis and Levitra work in a similar way, they produce the same drops in blood pressure in some patients and have been linked to the same side effects. We can expect to see an increased amount of Cialis and Levitra litigation in the future.

Many lawsuits have been filed against Viagra’s manufacturer, Pfizer. The first Viagra lawsuits were about injury from cardiac events, but not all of them were successful. For example, the judge in an early case in Manhattan dismissed an $85 million suit brought by a 60-year-old man who had suffered a heart attack while taking Viagra. The judge ruled that he had failed to prove the heart attack was caused by Viagra.

A whole new round of Viagra lawsuits were filed in 2005 when Viagra was linked to eye strokes or NAION (non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy). A Texas man filed a Viagra lawsuit in 2005 for damages for blindness in one eye that he suffered after using Viagra and his attorneys are seeking certification as a class action. Other law firms are also attempting to have a Viagra case certified as a class action. Such a case would be very large, because it’s estimated that 24 million men have used Viagra during its time on the market.

Viagra lawsuits are claiming that the manufacturer, Pfizer, did not adequately warn the public about the dangers of NAION. Pfizer is arguing that there is no evidence that Viagra causes NAION.

If you have suffered serious side effects, such as impaired vision due to an eye stroke or a heart attack, after using Viagra, Cialis or Levitra, you may be entitled to recover damages for your injuries. A qualified Viagra, Cialis & Levitra attorney will be able to help you evaluate your case.
