Cylert Lawsuits, Litigation & Lawyers

Cylert, a drug to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), had recently been removed from the market because it was found to cause liver damage and death in some patients. The FDA (Federal Drug Administration) has banned the drug and its generic form pemoline, because there are safer drugs available to treat the same condition. Cylert was manufactured by Abbott Laboratories, and generic products were manufactured by other companies.

If you or a family member has been injured after taking Cylert or if a family member has died, you may be able to collect damages for this injury. Litigation involving ADHD drugs is increasing, and Cylert lawsuits can be expected. You will want to get a qualified Cylert attorney to advise you on your case and to conduct your Cylert litigation. See Hiring a Cylert Attorney and Lawyer for more information of finding an experienced Cylert lawyer.

There are several decisions in Cylert or pemoline litigation that your Cylert attorney can make for you. Your attorney can tell you the best parties to name as defendants in your suit. Should you sue the manufacturer, the distributor, the clinic you went to? You might have a medical malpractice case if your physician wrote a prescription for Cylert or pemoline after those products had been banned by the FDA.

Your attorney will also decide when to sue to comply with your state’s time limit for these suits. Each state has its own laws on this and you must comply with them or you will lose your claim. These laws usually depend on a variety of factors that your attorney will be able to interpret. Your attorney will also decide which jurisdiction will be likely to bring you the best result.
