ACE Inhibitors Lawsuits, Litigation & Lawyers – What You Should Know

ACE Inhibitors are drugs used to treat high blood pressure and are manufactured by a variety of companies. These products have long been known to cause birth defects in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, but recent studies have indicated that ACE Inhibitors may also cause serious birth defects if taken by mothers during the first trimester of pregnancy. Patients were not warned of this danger.

There have been no reports of ACE Inhibitors lawsuits for birth defects resulting from taking ACE Inhibitors during the first trimester, because the dangers associated with this use were only recently discovered. Several law firms are gathering information in preparation for filing individual and possibly class action lawsuits.

Most states have laws that protect people who have been injured by drugs with serious side effects when the patients had no notice of the danger. The issues in this kind of lawsuit are whether the product, was defective or dangerous and whether the manufacturers and distributors were negligent or misrepresented information about the drug.
