If I decide to pursue a claim for a defective product, what should I provide to my attorney?
Proof. To establish a claim for product defect, you will need to provide to your attorney all the information you have about the product, as well as the product itself (if that is possible). If you purchased the defective product, you should have the information about the store where it was purchased, and when. Look for any literature or manuals which came with the product. Take photographs of the product, or where the injury occurred, if possible.
You will also need to collect your medical records (although your attorney can help you with this), as well as work records if you lost time from work, and any other documentation to support a claim of property damage (receipts for damaged clothing, dry cleaning bills).
